Doyle Field located behind Flanders Elementary School
- Southeastern Connecticut (CMSECT), 409 Main St., is holding its second annual Cow Plop Raffle, a unique fundraising event for the enjoyment of the entire community on Sunday, Sept. 18, at Doyle Field, located behind Flanders Elementary School, from 1:30 pm until there are 2 plops.
Come, breathe deep, and soak up the coastal pasture’s bucolic atmosphere, waiting for nature to take its course. “Purchase” a delineated plot of the pasture for $50, then sit back, relax, and watch two grazing cows until they do their duty. The first place winner receives $1000; second prize is $500.
Steve Elci and Friends provide live music during grazing time. Other activities include scat identification and reading “Everybody Poops.” The first 50 people that attend receive a cow pot, made of sterilized manure, for planting seedlings.
